Our Chocolate Lab, Pippin, always gets a treat whenever she goes for a walk
Since there have been recalls on so many brands of store bought dog treats, we decided to make them ourselves
These by far, are the best!
Add 2 1/2 cups of flour, 2 eggs and a pinch of salt to a mixing bowl
Let’s not forget the peanut butter!!
Add 3 tablespoons of peanut butter & 1 cup of pumpkin
Mix until well combined. It will be thick and sticky
Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours or up to overnight
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
Once chilled, take out of fridge and sprinkle your work surface with flour
Be sure that your dough is dusted with flour
Separate in half and roll out your dough
Cut your cookies into whatever shape makes you and your puppy happy
Cut, cut, cut, cut
And peel! Gather up the scraps, re-roll and cut out some more cookies. Repeat with the other half of the dough
While they’re baking, I’m taking time to write up this blog!
Ding! Now your delicious doggy treats are done!
Let cool on a wire rack and deliver to your favorite pupp!
Since there are not a lot of preservatives, we like to freeze them and give Pippin a frozen treat or defrost a few at a time
