Half & Half

Sometimes I feel like having a stout

Other times I feel like having a lager

And then occasionally I want both!

Thank the stars some genius came up with the Half & Half!

This is basically a dark beer layered on top of a lighter beer

There are many different beers you can use here, but typically you would want a Guinness Stout and some kind of lager

I’m using a pint glass.  You want to pour the lager into your glass on an angle, quickly, to form a bit of a head (or foam), which will help keep the stout layer from mixing in

Next you will need a large spoon, like a soup spoon.  I’m using my tablespoon measure

Place the spoon curved side up on an angle, into the glass, so the lower lip of the spoon is just in the head of the lager

Pour your Guinness very slowly on the back of the spoon so it runs into the glass instead of pours in

Move the spoon slowly up the side of the glass as you pour

Let your beer settle for a couple of minutes

And there you have it!

A Half and Half!

I just have to add here, this would be a great drink to go with Corned Beef & Cabbage!
