Who says sangria is just for the summer months???
Try this delicious Apple Cider Sangria with the warm flavors of Autumn and you’ll be hooked
You’ll need an orange and lemon for the citrus flavors and a mix of apples. I’m using a Granny Smith for the tartness, a Gala for sweetness and a Golden Delicious for its buttery taste
Thinly slice and add to a pitcher
The bottle of white wine you choose will determine the overall sweetness of the sangria
We prefer our sangria to be a little less sweet, so I chose a dry Chardonnay
If you like life on the sweeter side, pick something like a Moscato
Either way, the warm flavors will shine through
Pour a 750ml bottle of white wine and 2 cups of apple cider over the fruit in the pitcher
Chill for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld
Stir and pour over ice in a tall glass and garnish with an apple wedge
For an extra kick, we like to add in a shot of ginger beer. There’s no alcohol in ginger beer, but it has a wonderful ginger flavor
You can also use regular ginger ale, but keep in mind, it’s sweeter than ginger beer
Serve garnished with an apple wedge and enjoy!
