Citrus Marinated Olives

This is an easy way to take store bought olives and step them up a few notches

Citrus Marinated Olives are great for holidays, parties and even for gift giving!

You’ll need three cups of mixed olives.  The type really doesn’t matter, it’s whatever you like the best.  I’m using a combination of oil cured, Italian Castelvetrano and kalamata

Some have pits, some are pitted.  That doesn’t matter either, just make sure your guests are aware if you leave the pits

I avoid stuffed olives because I like to control what is in the mix

Zest one large orange, measure out 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes and two sprigs of fresh rosemary

Pick the rosemary leaves off of the stems and mix all of the ingredients in a medium sized pan and stir

Place on a burner over medium low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.  We just want to heat the olive mixture through so that all of the citrusy, herby flavors meld together

Remove from the heat and let come to room temperature

I must say, I’d be pretty stoked if someone brought a jar of these to my house as a hostess gift!

Enjoy!
