The Godfather
It’s happy hour and we’re going to celebrate with a smooth bourbon cocktail with a hint of almond sweetness
Rumor has it that The Godfather was Marlon Brando’s favorite cocktail. I’m pretty sure it also must have been his favorite acting role
“I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse…”
Well, I’m gonna make you a cocktail you won’t want to refuse!
Super simple, only 2 ingredients: bourbon and amaretto
Fill a cocktail glass with ice, pour in 2 ounces of bourbon and one ounce of Amaretto
Give a quick stir and enjoy!
Don Corleone said that “Revenge is a dish best served cold” but I think that a smooth bourbon cocktail with a hint of almond sweetness is a drink that is best served cold!
Cheers!

Manhattan
The Manhattan is such a classic cocktail. Whiskey and sweet vermouth perked up a little with some bitters and maraschino cherries
I almost feel fancy when I drink one… kinda like Lauren Bacall or Katherine Hepburn
There are versions using Bourbon or various types of whiskey, but like most recipes, I like to use what I have on hand
Assemble your favorite whiskey, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters and some Maraschino cherries
Note: I was able to find the Angostura bitters at my grocery store in the drink mixer section
Fill cocktail glasses with ice and add a couple of dashes of Angostura bitters, one ounce of sweet vermouth, 2 ounces of whiskey per serving
Why is it called a Manhattan?
Legend has it that this cocktail was invented in the late 1800’s in, yup, you guessed it, Manhattan, NY
Regardless of where it originated, it’s a simple cocktail that apparently can stand the test of time
Stir, toss in a couple of Maraschino cherries and serve!
Cheers!

This makes a nice addition because the cream is not sweetened and nicely compliments the cocktails
