Buttermilk is generally not something I just happen to have in my fridge and it’s actually pretty expensive to buy
So I make my own
Suppose you needed 1 cup of buttermilk…
Measure out one cup of whole milk and add an acid
In this case, I’m adding 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, so that’s one tablespoon per cup of milk
You can also use lemon juice from a bottle or even white vinegar
More often than not, I have fresh lemons so that’s what I use
Let stand for 10 minutes and you have buttermilk!
