The Gimlet is a classic drink from the 30’s that has been making a comeback in the past few years. It’s made with fresh lime juice, gin and a hint of sweetness. Warm weather is the perfect time to pour a couple of these refreshingly simple cocktails
Julie and Julia is one of my all time favorite movies. Go figure, a girl with a food blog who loves Julia Child. Julie can been seen in many instances drinking a Gimlet while she prepares dinner. Seems like a good idea to me! Let’s get mixing!
You’ll need gin, fresh limes, superfine sugar and lots of crushed ice
For each cocktail, measure out 2 ounces of gin, one ounce of fresh lime juice and 1-2 teaspoons of superfine sugar, depending upon your preference
Some of us are sweeter than others 😉
Add to a cocktail shaker filled with crushed ice & shake it until it’s so cold you can’t bear it
Pour into a glass over crushed ice and garnish with a wheel of fresh lime. Repeat for cocktail number two
Find your favorite happy hour buddy and enjoy!
